I Need To Make A Phone Call

Tonight Grace decided she needed to use the phone as she sat on the potty. I asked her who she was calling and she said "NiNi". Grace loves her NiNi!

Notice there is no one on the blue potty. Any ideas on how to get Mack to use it? The candy bribes aren't working . I'm thinking I may have to pull out the macaroni and cheese or a ham sandwich :)

I don't think I would push it until he's ready. I tried potty training H before he was ready and we are still dealing with the affects of it. He is eight now and his bowels are a mess. Mack will come around... don't stress:)

I like the perfectly placed Wiggles book, you wouldn't want Grace to pull a "Britney".

I am so proud of her, when are you coming to potty train Aubrey? We are hoping to get well and then start.

Grace is practicing to be the person who talks on her phone in the restroom stall right next to you at the airport...hee-hee! JK!

As for Mr. Mack, I'm with your other friend here who said just let him be and he'll come around. Ryan went pee-pee in the potty for WEEKS before he would sit on it. Must be a man thing! Seriously, I have another friend who push her little boy and now he's 4 and still won't poop in the potty.

With the girls there all of the time, my guess is he'll eventually (and probably quickly) cave in to good-ol' peer pressure! :)

I agree with Mel & Kelly (talk about "peer pressure"!)... Anyway. I know he needs to be trained by fall, but I'm sure it will all work out.

Gracie looks like a queen on her "throne"!

This is going to sound really horrible but after training Josh I knew when it was time for Owen that it was going to be a battle. Boys just don't seem to care much about sitting in a diaper. Soooo, I skipped the whole pullups thing altogether and if he peed in his pants, well it doesn't feel so great and he picked it up much quicker then Josh did. Now, I didn't resort to that right away. I gave him a few weeks of build up and then it was big boy underwear only. It seemed to work much better. If we had to go out I would throw a pullup on over top of his underwear but would explain that is was just in case.

My sister-in-law told me when they trained her grandson they had him stand at the big potty and she threw cheerios in the potty and had him see if he could hit them. She said it worked like a charm. Grannie D.

After trying lots of different methods, my SIL started making potty training a game. She took a doll or stuffed animal to the potty and put it on a potty schedule and eventually her daughter wanted to participate too. I don't know if this would work for a boy, but she realized her daughter learns best through play so she tried to make it more fun.
