My Dream

I'm a dreamer. I don't mean the kind that dreams of the future (although I'm that also), I mean the kind of dreams that come to you as you sleep. I always dream...very vividly. Sometimes my dreams are sad or scary and sometimes I have very happy dreams...I don't want to wake up. Last night, I dreamed that Grace was walking. Not in her walker...really walking... no assisted device at all. She, out of the blue, stood up and started walked. Although the room was silent no one acted as if it was a big deal...as if it was a miracle. In this dream I was really happy and didn't want to wake up.

What makes this dream even stranger is that as I opened my email to read the Chapter of the day (Join the Journey) and it was this....

Mark 2 - Jesus Heals a Paralytic

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

Now it's not the healing part of this story that the commentator focused on but the group of people who brought the man to Jesus. The group that supported the paralytic. The people that surrounded him with love. So, although I love the healing part of the story, and I pray that for Grace everyday, I also love that we have a support group just like the paralytic, that picks Grace and me up when we just can't walk anymore.

I think its neat that you dream so vividly. I'm sure the dream means something and after seeing the video of Grace in her walker I'm sure her walking without assistance is a big possibility.

Thanks for the insight into the story of the paralytic. While I've read it many times I've never really made the connection between the paralytic and his support group. Very good.

Made me cry. I will pray for Gracie to walk until she runs to meet me at the front door! Then I'll praise God for giving my special friend his blessing. Until then - I guess she will just keep blessing us! love, J

I have the same dreams of my Makily. No one acted like it was a big deal in my dream either although I was beaming at her. I don't want to wake up either. When I do, I realize it was just a dream and then I am sad.

We keep hoping, praying and working...she will do it one day.
