Potty Training 101

The kids must be potty trained by September or they can't go to preschool, so I decided we needed to really give this potty training thing a go. I have dreaded it and put it off as long as I can.

SO, I read the book on potty training triplets....

Everyone gets their own potty and we have books for everyone to read while sitting. Notice we have a book about every Wiggle. Grace's loves them in this order...Greg, Murray, Dorothy, The Dog (she refuses to call him Wags) and Jeff. She doesn't care a bit about Anthony. I don't understand this at all...Anthony is HOT!

Oh, and also notice they get to potty in the hallway. Our tiny bathroom doesn't allow room for the whole family to potty together.

Mack and Sophie have also decided that the inserts in the potties can also be used as hats. Lovely!!!
We also have educational books and videos. Mack has 3 books...he needs all the help he can get.We even have boy and girl pull-ups and cute underwear and panties for when we get really good. So far the underwear and panties have only been worn as hats (what is up with that!)
Bribes!!! When all else fails, give them candy! Sophie like the gummy fish (I call them potty fish) and Grace prefers the mini M&M's (although she really doesn't require a bribe...watch for more on that later). We have not found the bribe for Mack yet. He really wants the gummy fish but not enough to sit on the potty even WITH his diaper on. He will ask ever so sweetly..."Please?" and I reply "if you sit on the potty you can have one". "NO POTTY" is his only response before he tries again, even sweeter..."Please".

Well, we have all we need. Now if someone could come to my house and do all the work. Please.

Jacolyn when you get someone to come and potty train the kids send them my way. Same story here we have all the stuff I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. I have been putting it off. Ugh!! I don't want to have to go to every public restroon when we go out.

I've heard aiming at cheerios in the toilet is helpful for boys. Whoever invented the cheerio is genius!

Love you

I will let you know now that training boys is HARD! I have 3 nieces and they potty trained in no time. My boys...took a long, loooonnnnggggg time. So give Mack a little extra time. That was my experience anyway.

Good luck!!

Well you definitely are prepared. I wish you all the luck and strength you can get. That is a huge feat that you are undertaking.
Best of luck.
Elizabeth loves her cars pull-ups she couldn't care for the princess ones. That being said she has no problem peeing or pooping in them, I really hoped that if she loved that much she would not pee in them. Another caution girls can spray just as much as boys she is always peeing on the floor out of the potty. You might want to add paper towels, lysol wipes and a drinkie or two for you.

Good luck to you! You certainly have your act together. My only advice would be to not let them know how badly you want them to do this. They are little, but they are smart! Seriously, keep us posted on how things are coming along! :)

Try the towel potty training method.
